Challenge

Rebranding a 20-year-old commercial landscaping company serving Las Vegas and Phoenix presented a unique hurdle. Their name, “Valley Green,” traditionally evokes water-heavy lawns, which contradicts modern desert conservation. The challenge was shifting their visual narrative toward sustainable, drought-tolerant xeriscaping without losing their established corporate authority. We needed a mark that felt both premium and deeply rooted in responsible desert architecture.

Valley Green Landscape is a commercial landscape company serving the Las Vegas and Phoenix business communities for more than two decades. They plan, design, install and maintain outdoor spaces for multifamily and condominium communities, HOAs, office complexes, retail centers, and other commercial properties. They create visually appealing and functional landscapes that enhance your properties’ appearance and marketability, provide recreational areas for tenants and visitors, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Process

Starting from scratch, I deliberately avoided cliché saguaros and generic palm trees. Instead, I drew inspiration directly from the Agave victoriae-reginae. I began sketching geometric abstractions of its highly symmetrical, tightly packed rosette. The goal was to distill its complex botanical structure into a clean, modern, and minimal vector icon. I meticulously refined the curves to ensure the mark would scale flawlessly from a tiny website favicon up to a massive truck decal.

Identity

A landscaping brand’s logo strengthens its identity by using natural tones. Our primary palette relies on “Dark spring green” and deep earthy tones like “Raisin Black” to represent growth, nature, and stability. Green communicates freshness, vitality, and healthy environments, while the dark, grounded tones add reliability and connection to the soil. Together, they visually reinforce Valley Green’s expertise in creating natural, sustainable, and trustworthy outdoor spaces.

A landscaping company’s logo can strengthen its identity by using green and brown, since these colors naturally represent growth, nature, earth, and stability. Green communicates freshness, vitality, and healthy environments, while brown adds a sense of grounding, reliability, and connection to the soil. Together, they visually reinforce the company’s expertise in creating natural, sustainable, and trustworthy outdoor spaces. Paired with nature colors is the Philosopher font, a decorative and versatile serif typeface known for its unique blend of classic and modern elements, elegant flared serifs, and open counters. It offers a sense of warmth and clarity, providing a balanced and legible reading experience.

Expression

Paired with our nature colors is the Philosopher font, a decorative serif known for its blend of classic and modern elements, elegant flared serifs, and open counters. It offers warmth and clarity, providing a perfectly balanced reading experience. We contrasted this with the clean sans-serif Outfit for secondary text. To complete the visual system, I designed a suite of custom line-art icons—representing everything from irrigation to planting—for cohesive communication.

Strategy

Deploying the brand required a strategy that maximized visibility across commercial job sites. We applied the crisp white logo variation to green fleet vehicles, instantly turning their trucks into moving billboards. For the crew, we designed clean, branded apparel—like green polos and structured caps—ensuring a professional appearance on HOA properties. Corporate collateral like business cards and office mugs were updated to create a cohesive, premium touchpoint for B2B clients.

Impact

The new identity successfully elevated Valley Green from a traditional maintenance crew to a premium, modern landscape architecture firm. The geometric agave logo perfectly bridges their legacy name with their modern reality of water-smart desert landscaping. It commands respect in high-end commercial markets across Nevada and Arizona, ensuring the brand looks as structured, vibrant, and enduring as the sustainable outdoor spaces they design and build.
